Cancellation & Refund Policy

This Cancellation & Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which Parent Consultations may be cancelled or rescheduled, and the conditions under which personalised resources (the Report Summary, the school documents summary, One Tool and the Homework Starter Kit) may be cancelled or refunded. It applies to all services and products currently provided by Steady Minds Learning Pty Ltd: Parent Consultations, the Report Summary, the school documents summary, One Tool, the Homework Starter Kit, and ready-made digital resources, including the Homework Station Kit and the Year 7 Kit.

Nothing in this Cancellation & Refund Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy available to the Client under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified. Where a conflict arises between this Policy and the Australian Consumer Law, the Australian Consumer Law prevails.

1. Session Cancellations by Clients

To cancel or reschedule a Parent Consultation without charge, please give at least 24 hours' notice (counted from the scheduled start time) by text or email. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, we may charge a late cancellation fee of up to the consultation fee. The fee reflects our reasonable loss. We will reduce it, or not charge it, if we fill the appointment or avoid costs. Travel fees are not charged for a session that doesn't go ahead. Fees are usually waived for illness, medical or family emergencies, hospitalisation or bereavement. Documentation may be requested where appropriate.

2. Non-Attendance

If a parent or guardian does not attend a scheduled consultation and gives no notice, we may charge a fee of up to the consultation fee. It is worked out the same way as a late cancellation fee: it reflects our reasonable loss and is reduced if the appointment is filled or costs are avoided. The illness and emergency discretion in section 1 also applies. Repeated non-attendance may result in suspension or termination of services.

3. Cancellations by Steady Minds Learning Pty Ltd

If Steady Minds Learning Pty Ltd must cancel a consultation due to illness, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances, we will offer to reschedule at a time that suits the Client. No fee is charged for a cancelled session. If the Client has already paid, the Client can choose a rescheduled session or a full refund.

4. Personalised Resources

The Report Summary, the school documents summary, One Tool and the Homework Starter Kit are prepared specifically for the named student, based on documents and information supplied by the Client. The following applies:

  • When work starts. Work starts as soon as we have received both cleared payment and the documents or information needed. We will email you to confirm that we have both.
  • Before work starts, you can cancel for a full refund.
  • After work starts, orders cannot be cancelled for change of mind, because each resource is prepared for an individual student.
  • Included support. This is part of the price and is separate from your consumer rights:
    • Homework Starter Kit: one round of changes if a tool doesn't fit how your child works, requested within 14 days of delivery.
    • Report Summary and school documents summary: corrections or clarifications if anything is wrong or unclear, requested within 14 days of delivery.
    • One Tool: one round of changes if the tool doesn't fit how your child works, requested within 14 days of delivery.
  • Credits. If a service ordered using a credit is cancelled before work starts, the amount paid is refunded and the credit is reinstated for the rest of the original 60-day period (see clause 2.4C of our Terms and Conditions).

These terms do not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If a service is not provided with due care and skill, you may be entitled to a remedy, such as having it fixed or a refund. That right is not limited to 14 days.

4A. Ready-Made Digital Resources

Ready-made digital resources, including the Homework Station Kit and the Year 7 Kit, are standard downloadable products. They are not personalised to an individual student. The following applies:

  • because digital resources are available for download immediately after purchase, they cannot be refunded for change of mind
  • if a file is faulty, will not open, or is incomplete, contact us and we will fix or replace it, or refund you if we can't. It helps to tell us as soon as you notice. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not limited to a set period.
  • digital resources are licensed for use by the purchasing family only and must not be shared with other families, resold or published

This is in addition to the Client’s rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

5. How to Cancel or Reschedule

Email alana@steadymindslearning.com.au or text 0480 839 343. If you call instead, we will confirm the cancellation by email or text so there is a written record. Notice is counted from when you call or send your message, not from when we reply.

6. Agreement to Policy

By booking a consultation or ordering a resource from Steady Minds Learning Pty Ltd, Clients acknowledge and agree to this Cancellation & Refund Policy.
